Yes, it is possible to stop a restart in Microsoft Windows XP in just a few steps. Here is how:
Go to
Start -> Run

In the little Run box that just popped up, type in

cmd

Now another box popped up, except the background of this is black and has some words on it. Just simply type in

 

shutdown –a

Don’t remove the “-a” because it tells Windows XP to abort the shutdown!
