Scan Count Down?

What is Windows XP Scan Count Down? It is ‘CHKDSK,’ which you can schedule to run on next boot. On the next boot, the system will ask you ‘to press a any key to cancel ‘CHKDSK.’ There will be an amount of time for a count down before you can no longer cancel the operation. The default value is set to 10 seconds. If you want to change this, go to ‘Start -> Run -> type in ‘regedit.’ Then in the Registry Editor, find ‘HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session\Manager. Now to the right, find ‘AutoChkTimeOut’ and change the value to anything you would like. The range is: 0 to 259,200 seconds. 259,200 seconds is equivalent to 3 days. If you keep it at 0, then there is no count down and you can’t cancel the ‘CHKDSK’ in Microsoft Windows XP.
