Remove Links Folder
If you never use the ‘links’ folder in Internet Explorer, then this is a way to remove it in Windows XP. Here is how to get rid of it for good!
Go to Start -> Run -> type regedit in the box. Then find the registry key: “HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar.” Now this becomes the fun part. For these values you may need to create them. If they are already there, then you just have to modify it.
Find or Create the value: “LinksFolderName,” and set the ‘string value’ as nothing, so it should be blank. Now open Internet Explorer, and delete the ‘Links’ folder from the favorites Menu. Exit the Registry Editor and restart Windows XP. The ‘Links’ folder will never be recreated.
